Consider Request by Mayor Hersman and Councilmember Stern to Discuss a Street Sweeping Opt-Out Program for Residents and Businesses (Public Works Director Katsouleas).
DISCUSS AND PROVIDE DIRECTION
If street sweeping is not deemed as vital for stormdrains that opt-out is considered, then perhaps need to re-evaluate the program to lessen impact on the storm water fund/general fund. Could be monthly or not at all during most months outside rainy season. Consider that even during last year's rainy season, my street (scheduled Tues) was skipped Christmas and New Year's without make-up, presumably because of little expected harm. So, how important is this program, other than to check off a box?
