Consider Approving the Parking and Public Improvements Commission's Recommendation to Incorporate Proposed Crosswalk Enhancements into New or Ongoing Projects as Part of the City's Capital Improvements Plan and Pursue Funding Opportunities (Community Development Director Tai and Public Works Director Katsouleas).

Please limit the use of "high visibility signs" and especially flashing signs to only extreme critical areas. The default answer to all problems should not be "put up a sign." You need to manage expectations. Be sensitive to the impacts of visual pollution if not just for a more attractive visual environment but as a contributor to urban stress. About 15 years ago we had a problem with stop signs going up everywhere and realized that was excessive and pulled back. The same seems to apply here.
