Consideration of Installing the City Logo in the Center of the Scrambled Crosswalk Located at the Intersection of Manhattan Beach Boulevard and Manhattan Avenue, and a Lifeguard Tower Image at the Intersection of Manhattan Beach Boulevard and Highland Avenue (Public Works Director Katsouleas).

What is with you guys and the City Logo? I recall a charrette meeting chaired by Geoff Dolan where he was pushing something similar for the end of MBB by the Pier. That idea was pretty much shut down by the participants. This is "look at me" stuff that has no long-term benefit to the city, and will divert time and attention from other areas in much more need of basic upkeep. This is not "public art", it is kitsch. Nor would one expect to see such in the streets of Florence, Italy.
