I strongly support the reopening of parklets. I just came back from Florida where everything, including indoor dining at restaurants, is allowed. The statistics show no "excess deaths" over previous years. Hospitalizations are on par with previous years for flu. The Council admits they do not have data supporting dining closures. If you have concerns, you have a CHOICE to remain away from retail and restaurants. Let's save our small businesses!
In my opinion it's a terrible idea to close the parkettes. There is no data showing a rise in Covid positive due to eating at restaurants. The increase in Covid in my opinion is from increased testing, look at the lines around Exer. The reason there is more testing is our citizens want to work and LA County requires extra testing for all employees of businesses that may have exposed employees. It really does not matter how many positive are found, as the death rate has remained at 4.
