CONSIDER RESOLUTION NO. 24-0025
The past few years have been a challenge for all towns. I am writing in support of local control: allow our city to prosecute state misdemeanors committed within our city with no need to ask for DA consent.
I fully support Assemblymember Muratsuchi's proposed AB 2309 and the city's resolution no. 24-0025 to sponsor and support said legislation. Passage of this bill would achieve a major public safety goal - the prosecution of state misdemeanors - that the City and Council have been trying for years, without success, to implement with the acquiescence of our rogue, anti-public safety County DA. This bill will circumvent the obstinance to such prosecutions by the rabid idealogue currently occupying that office and should be unanimously supported by Council and sponsored by the City.
