I support using Lot 3 for a multi-use project consisting of affordable housing and multiple levels of public parking. This is an ideal way to move towards satisfying our RHNA requirements without impacting our single-family neighborhoods, and in doing so, creating affordable housing in proximity to the beach. And, replacing the parking we lost on this site. As for the 400 MBB site, none of the proposed uses are compelling. It feels like we’re desperate to find something to do with a property we never should have purchased to begin with. I strongly urge the Council to sell the property for a profit, use the money for something we really need (aquatic center?) and call it a day.
