DISCUSS AND PROVIDE DIRECTION
I would prefer a more comprehensive tree planting policy and program rather than a one-day performative exercise. That Council decided not to plant trees on the MBB median "because it was too hard to grow" or "only wanted to plant trees where they provide shade to humans" really shows what the Council thinks of trees and their benefits. Consider also that MB once had a Tree Canopy Committee that was folded by Council into an Environmental Committee, which hasn't done anything.
