Would like additional information as to why this is considered a true emergency and why staff did not anticipate needing to replace the position earlier. Would ask Council NOT to approve this additional expense and wait the180 days. Lack of staff preparedness should not mean additional expense for taxpayers. Also, the resolution states $62.50/hr. (base salary ~$10,833, but the Appointment Document says $59.83/hr. (estimated base salary of $10,370) - needs to be reconciled. Would also ask Council / City Attorney to confirm this is within State Law but seems ok at first glance.
