Inputs to Slide 28-DT Development=Maintain building height restrictions & no new development, Opportunity sites - explore no change until plans for trash, noise, delivery vehicles, smoking ban etc. Parking not solved with building parking structures! understand number of spaces & prioritize/designate parking for all our constituents, more trash cans, nice lighting, benches, maintain core value of maintaining small town environment.

The recent workshop and public meetings on the Downtown Specific Plan have highlighted residents concerns regarding parking needs in downtown and ULI conclusions. While visitors may be an important component to a healthy economic downtown, it is not the only factor. Downtown Manhattan Beach was initially built as a small beach side community without regards to the automobile with our narrow streets and large walk streets. Let's keep it small and not agree to spend tax dollars on new parking

Council needs to specify a statistically significant participation level prior to any "factual reporting". To have the consultant emphasize "The majority strongly disagreed" with only 3 votes (75% total!) throws doubt on both the expenditure and efficacy of this meeting.

The abundance of photographs of the participants in the report and less on facts and figures suggests this was more for show than substance.

See attached. Where are we in the spectrum? Where do we want to be?

At a presentation to the downtown homeowners, ULI said the city wanted to take advantage of the market opportunity that exists because over 700,000 people live within a 20 minute commute of our downtown. That is incorrect. The residents of Manhattan Beach do NOT want the city to take advantage of that so-called market opportunity.
