As a 37 year resident and listening to some recent lunatic City Council members, the mayoral rotation needs to remain in place. Suzanne has morals and excellent character.
Ecclesiastes 10:2 "The heart of the wise inclines to the right, but the heart of the fool to the left". It can't get any clearer.

Dear Mr. Mayor and Council Members:
As a 65 year resident of Manhattan Beach, I strongly support Council Member Suzanne Hadley as the next Mayor. I also strongly support the way the rotating process of becoming Mayor has been for as many years as I can remember. We do not need to make changes that politicize the process, and fuels the division in our community.
    Sincerely,
    Peggy Nisen

I am of the opinion that the member(s) of the Manhattan Beach City Council that proposed depriving Suzanne Hadley of the position of mayor should immediately resign. Suzanne Hadley was elected because of the values she has expressed. Those who seek to institute a system change because they disagree with her ideas are on the road to tyranny. Once politicians cave to the screaming minority the republic is in jeopardy. Elections have consequences that we all must deal with, like it or not.

I am a resident of MB since 1995. I strongly support Mayor ProTem Hadley to be confirmed as Mayor on Dec 1. This should not even be an issue for our city. If the city council wants to go another route, they can go through the normal process with rule making and public comment. This is NOT something that should be considered at the 11th hour. Suzanne is qualified and ready to take over the honor, why would any of you want to take this away? Please do the right thing!

Hadley garnered a commanding plurality. This 29-year resident supports because she is qualified to lead day-1. I respect dissenting views, but "elections have consequences." I believe in the fairness and non-partisanship of the Mayoral process and in day-1 turns for Stern, Napolitano, Montgomery and Franklin or Fournell, if they support the process now.
Any vote against ascension is an unjustified and partisan vote of no confidence and responsible for an ongoing 9-month cycle if divisiveness.

As a resident for more than 30 years I voted for Suzanne and I deserve to have my vote counted by letting her serve her time as mayor!

I have been a Manhattan Beach resident for 44 years. The rotation of the mayor's office among the Council members is a long tradition. I do not necessarily agree with every vote or statement by Suzanne Hadley, but she has served honestly, faithfully and honorably as a Council member and should take her turn as Mayor. Her political opponents should not be allowed to hijack the City's traditions in order to selfishly serve their own interests.

The sour grapes move to deny Suzanne Hadley her rightful rotation into the Mayors chair is outrageous. She deserves the same opportunity to serve as those that are trying to stop her. These are the small minded, mean cancel culture people that we don't need in Manhattan Beach and especially in the city council. We know who they are and should be glad they're finally leaving.

Disgusts me that I feel compelled to comment; because the topic of Mayoral Rotation should be a non-issue. Suzanne Hadley was rightly elected to the Council. She received the most votes of any candidate for two open council spots in 2019. Suzanne does a great job representing Manhattan Beach residents. She deserves her rightful turn as the next Mayor. I'm glad she wants common sense Covid rules and our kids back in school (safely of course). SUPPORT though recognition of Mayor Montgomery!

The long standing tradition of mayoral rotation should not be changed. Suzanne Hadley was elected by Manhattan Beach residents and should become Mayor on Dec 1st as planned and as voters expect. It is important to maintain precedent and tradition during such a tumultuous time. A handful of upset people should not be able to disrupt the entire structure & protocol of the mayoral rotation. Mrs. Hadley has the knowledge and experience to represent our city well and I support her as mayor.

My husband has lived in MB for over 45 years and I have lived here for 30. We voted for Suzanne based on her knowledge of MB, her community service and honesty. She should have her turn at Mayor as all the other council members do. It is frightening that people who want to "Reorganize" our city for their own personal agenda's after the voters brought Suzanne on the CC. The loudest people are not always right. I strongly urge the advancement of MPT Hadley to Mayor on December 1 as planned. She was elected by a clear margin of the voters in MB, myself included, with the expectation she would have her turn at mayor the same as everyone else. The argument that we need "continuity during covid" is a smokescreen and has no basis. By that logic the leadership in DC should remain past January. The fact that this item is even on the agenda just fosters divisiveness.

I have lived in MB for over 45 years, and for virtually all this time we have followed a particular protocol for mayorship rotation. We all vote with the expectation we will continue to follow this protocol. To do otherwise would show a lack of respect for the voters. Let's keep Manhattan Beach nonpartisan as it has been for many years!

I fully support Suzanne Hadley and the continued long-standing protocol of rotating the mayoral position. If there is a valid reason for changing this at the last minute, I'm sure everyone would like to hear it. Otherwise, let's move on.

In this time of emergency we need Hadley's honest communication, decisive action and empathy for small business owners, students, and parents. This is not the first time Stern injects divisive partisanship in our city council. I am surprised by Hersman. She promoted bipartisan initiatives in the past, still in her last day in council she is tying her legacy to a partisan attempt to humiliate and punish a colleague and dictate how the council should run after she is gone.

I fully support Suzanne Hadley’s rightful position of incoming mayor. Opponents of Suzanne, under the guise of the pandemic, are taking the opportunity to thwart 50 years of successful government in Manhattan Beach and this has to stop. There are so many pressing issues that need the council’s focus and this frivolous agenda item should not be considered. Let’s unite to keep our small businesses and community healthy.

I oppose confirming Hadley as mayor. She has demonstrated throughout her CC tenure that she is a partisan who listens only to those with whom she agrees. She is a science denier and covert racist who believes that we should open our schools against the wisdom of science without consulting a single union and that Bruce's Beach has been adequately addressed. An embarrassment to rational, empathetic citizens.
